D'Onta Foreman

It's the right move for Foreman, who has a chance to be one of the top runners in a draft strong at the position. Listed at 6-foot-1, 249 pounds, Foreman aesthetically resembles LeGarrette Blount, but likely is a better athlete. Indeed, former Texas coach Charlie Strong said Foreman was one of the three fastest players on the entire Longhorns roster in 2016. That may have been a bit generous, but Foreman's long speed immediately stands out on tape. Especially if he cuts his weight down to around the 240-pound range, Foreman looks like a good bet to run a 4.50-second 40 or better at the Combine. Foreman's unique combination of size and big-play ability manifested clearly in his production at Texas, as over the last two years he ran for 2,709 yards and 20 touchdowns on just 418 carries, good for an average of 6.5 yards per carry. It's hard to see Foreman getting picked before any of Dalvin Cook, Leonard Fournette, or Nick Chubb, and players like Royce Freeman, Samaje Perine, and Christian McCaffrey loom as major potential competition, too, but it generally would be a surprise if Foreman fell past the third round. He's a strong dynasty league asset. Chris Warren should step into a workhorse role for Texas next year with Foreman gone.
