Mockobee was caught up in this dominant performance for Notre Dame's defense which allowed an avearge of 1.5 yards across 25 rushing attempts for Purdue. The junior quarterback is expected to be the top running back for the Boilermakers after totaling 1,775 rushing yards over the past two seasons. However, he split carries Saturday with Illinois transfer Reggie Love, who logged 10 rushes for 61 yards. Mockobee and Love look like they'll probably be set for a lightning-and-thunder duo out of the backfield this season, so Purdue's rushing game will have to make some significant strides if either running back is going to have much fantasy value during upcoming conference play. The Boilermakers will look to bounce back next Saturday against an Oregon State defense that just gave up 240 rushing yards versus Oregon in Week 3.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
Mockobee had a productive freshman year for Purdue, where he saw 195 carries, 968 yards, nine touchdowns on the ground and 32 receptions for 274 yards as a receiver. He was the lead back last season and ran at an efficient 5.0 yards per carry for the Boilermakers. There should be no reason to anticipate a less productive sophomore season, especially with a new coaching staff that could involve the ground game more. The sophomore could slightly upgrade his workload under the direction of Graham Harrell, whose running backs combined for more than 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns last year at West Virginia.
