Declares for draft
Vele announced Sunday via social media that he will forgo his remaining eligibility at Utah and will enter the 2024 NFL Draft.
ANALYSIS
Vele had the option of playing a sixth year of college football in 2024, but since he's set to turn 26 years old later this month, he'll instead get his professional career underway. The wideout isn't expected to play Dec. 23 in Utah's matchup with Northwestern in the Las Vegas Bowl as he begins his preparations for the draft. He recorded 55 catches for 593 yards and three touchdowns in 2023.

2023 Fantasy Outlook
There was wide speculation that Vele would jump to the NFL, as the wideout was already 24 and wanted to get his pro career going. Instead, Vele changed his mind and decided to suit up for the Utes for one more year. Vele should enjoy some additional opportunity now that Dalton Kincaid has departed for the pros. He’s been Utah’s deep-threat receiver for the past two years, and enjoyed his best statistical total in 2022, with 55 catches for 695 yards and five touchdowns. Rising targeted him 95 times last season, and we should expect a similar volume going his way in 2023.
