2024 Receiving Projections
2024 Fantasy Outlook
Smith finished 2023 hot, tallying 20 receptions for 240 yards and four touchdowns over his final three games. He compiled career-best marks of 50 catches, 513 yards and six touchdowns, and this year, he'll have the chance to surpass those tallies with top pass catcher Malachi Corley gone. Corley's departure likely primes Smith to ascend to the top of the wideout depth chart for an offense now directed by transfer quarterback TJ Finley, the most likely candidate to inherit the starting job from two-year starter Austin Reed. Finley is a proven weapon under center, amassing 3,439 passing yards while tossing 24 touchdowns at Texas State last season. Smith has improved his output each season since his freshman year, and 2024 should provide plenty of opportunities to keep that pattern going. Read Past Outlooks
Finds the end zone
Smith caught two passes for 39 yards and a score Thursday against UTEP.
ANALYSIS
Smith was a strong secondary receiver the last couple years, and some expected him to take over as the number-one guy with Malachi Corley moving onto the NFL. Instead, Kisean Messer and Easton Messer have risen above him on the depth chart, and Smith has all of 162 yards on the season.
