Passes away at 19 years old
Sather passed away Tuesday after a battling renal cancer.

The 19-year-old was entering his second season at Idaho after using a redshirt as a true freshman in 2018. Sather was first hospitalized in January after experiencing stomach pain and was later diagnosed with an advanced form of cancer, which was treated unsuccessfully through dialysis and chemotherapy. "It is a testament to him to see how many of our players cared so deeply about him and how many lives he touched in the Vandal Family in such a short time," coach Paul Petrino said in a statement following Sather's passing. "My time with him made me a better person and I know his teammates feel the same way."
