Malachi Singleton News: Will begin season in backup role

Singleton was competing with Browne for the starting gig throughout the offseason but was reported to have fallen behind in the position battle recently. The 6-foot-1 signal caller joined the Boilermakers after transferring in from Arkansas in the offseason, where he threw for 358 yards and a single touchdown across five appearances.
