CJ Carr News: Named starting QB for Irish

Carr has won Notre Dame's quarterback battle, beating out Kenny Minchey, per Matt Zenitz of 247Sports.com.

Carr has won the starting job ahead of his redshirt freshman season. This was one of the more highly publicized quarterback battles in the nation this fall, one that was reportedly extremely close. Just days ago, On3.com's Pete Nakos reported that Carr was slipping in the competition to Minchey. Still, the former blue chip prospect prevailed, and is set to see his first collegiate action with the Irish open their season on August 31 against Miami (FL).
