Caden Veltkamp News: Announced as Week 1 starter

Veltkamp will be Florida Atlantic's starting quarterback at Maryland on Aug. 30, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Back in December, it was announced that Veltkamp would transfer from Western Kentucky to Florida Atlantic. Considering his overall excellence for WKU, it is not so surprising that the Owls named him starting quarterback going into their 2025 season. 2024 saw Veltkamp logging well over 3,000 passing yards and 30 total touchdowns. The question becomes whether or not he can translate all that success to the American Conference, which may pose at least a bit more of a challenge.
