Zach Mathis

Target leader in Week 1 loss
Mathis secured four of eight targets for 34 yards during the Elks' 31-14 loss to the Lions in Week 1.
ANALYSIS
Mathis surprisingly set the pace in targets for the Elks on the night, opening his second CFL season in busy fashion. The North Dakota State product got his feet wet in the pro ranks a season ago with a 12-137-1 receiving line, which included a 40-yard touchdown catch, over 10 games, and as the opener seemed to indicate, he could be due for an incremental expansion of his role this season in the wake of the offseason departure of Dillon Mitchell.
