2024 Tournament PreviewColorado returns to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021 after advancing to the Pac-12 tournament final as the No. 3 seed. In a rotation of almost entirely upperclassmen, point guard and triple-double threat KJ Simpson (19.5 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 4.9 apg) leads a group of five double-digit scorers, shooting a team-high 45.3 percent from 3-point range. A 6-9 senior, Tristan da Silva (16.0 ppg, 5.2 rpg) is a more-than-viable complementary threat with 38.0 percent perimeter shooting. The Buffaloes rank 25th in KenPom's offensive efficiency, due largely to tremendous long-range skills - 39.4 percent, fifth highest in the nation. Defense is top 45 nationally, per KenPom, with 6-11 senior Eddie Lampkin Jr. (10.3 ppg, 7.2 rpg) helping the team rank 16th in defensive rebound rate. The Buffaloes struggle to force turnovers (295th), but with four Quad 1 wins, six in Quad 2 and no bad losses, there is reason for optimism in getting out of the South's 10-seed play-in game and beyond, especially with a star like Simpson.
