Leads way in first-round win
Wright finished Friday's 75-72 victory over Mississippi State with 19 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists and one steal over 31 minutes.
ANALYSIS
Wright came up big for Baylor as the Bears escaped with a three-point win, shooting better than 50-percent from the floor while leading the way with 19 points, the most he's tallied since scoring 24 against Kansas on February 1. Wright had averaged just 4.7 points on 27.3-percent shooting across his previous three games but played very well in helping lead Baylor to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Bears were a top-10 team in the preseason polls and struggled throughout much of the year but if the freshman point guard can maintain this proficiency, Baylor is more than capable of being a live dog in their next matchup against top-seeded Duke.
