Quaintance continues to work his way back from an offseason ACL tear, but he appears to be nearing a return. When asked about the sophomore's timetable, head coach Mark Pope said, "We're down to days and hours - maybe a week or so, in there - not weeks and months". Pope went on to hint for a return against Bellarmine on Dec. 23, and that St. John's is not out of the question as well. Quaintance is expected to play a significant role for Kentucky when he is able to make his debut.
