Ali came off the bench to drain 4-of-5 from beyond the arc, supplying a career-high 18 points while adding seven boards and two steals during Wednesday's double-OT marathon. After seeing relatively minimal action while playing in 20 of Arizona State's first 21 games, Ali has now topped 30 minutes in back-to-back contests off the bench, supplying a total of 30 points and 17 boards with six made three-pointers. Part of the added opportunity is due to the absence of fellow freshman Jayden Quaintance, who left the Sun Devils' last game with an ankle injury. With the success that Ali has produced while receiving extra run, it would not be surprising if he has carved out a bigger role for himself, even when Quaintance returns to the lineup.
