The Mavericks
announced Thursday that an MRI revealed Doncic sustained a right wrist sprain in Tuesday's 132-91 win over Pelicans and will be re-evaluated in one week.
ANALYSISDoncic began feeling pain in his wrist during the first quarter of Tuesday's game, per
Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com. While the superstar guard was able to finish out the contest and logged 30 minutes, his injury was apparently more serious than initially expected. With Doncic sidelined for at least a week,
Kyrie Irving will likely see more time on the ball,
Spencer Dinwiddie could re-enter the rotation, and
Jaden Hardy and
Quentin Grimes could both take on increased minutes.
