2025 Fantasy Outlook
As a rookie with the Hornets, Salaun averaged 5.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 20.7 minutes per game across 60 regular-season appearances, hitting 33.0 percent from the field, 28.3 percent from beyond the arc and 71.3 percent from the free-throw line. His counting stats are modest now, but his physical tools, length and energy give him intriguing upside if his development is a priority for the franchise. At this stage, he functions best as a speculative hold in dynasty formats or a watch-list candidate in deeper redraft formats. Still raw and streaky as a shooter, Salaun remains volatile and currently lacks the polished offensive game to be a reliable fantasy contributor. And on the defensive end, he's yet to see his athleticism translate to consistent production in steals and blocks. The Hornets are much healthier in 2025-26 and added some solid depth via the draft and free agency, complicating Salaun's path to minutes. Heading into training camp, Salaun is projected to compete for backup power forward minutes behind Miles Bridges with Liam McNeeley and Grant Williams (knee). Read Past Outlooks
Excels from deep in G League
Salaun produced 19 points (7-12 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 0-1 FT), seven rebounds and one steal in 24 minutes during the Greensboro Swarm's 122-120 G League win over the Maine Celtics on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Salaun nailed five threes, his G League career high, to go along with an efficient shooting performance overall. The Hornets have high hopes for Salaun in the future, given that the forward was the No. 6 overall pick in last year's draft, but most of his action figures to come with the Swarm for now. Last G League regular season, Salaun averaged 11.8 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 32.1 minutes per game across five appearances.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Salaun was selected with the No. 6 pick by the Hornets in the 2024 NBA Draft. Salaun, out of French team Cholet, is an athletic power forward. In Summer League, Salaun averaged 9.0 points and 0.3 threes on 42/10/50 shooting, 7.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 0.7 turnovers in 19.4 minutes. Salaun shot poorly from three but was passable in his three professional years overseas, and notably improved his free-throw percentage to 75 percent last season. He has a bit of a windup, bringing the ball too low before firing, but that could get ironed out. The rest of his offense game is also relatively undeveloped. He's not much of a passer or ballhandler, though he can grab and go in transition. His defense is inconsistent, and he wasn't able to rack up a steal or block in Summer League, but all the tools are there. Ultimately, he'll find himself in a crowded forward rotation, competing for minutes with the likes of Brandon Miller, Grant Williams and Miles Bridges. It's not an ideal situation for the rookie Salaun in terms of fantasy hoops.

Lee gives him accolades
Hornets coach Charles Lee said Wednesday that Salaun has caught his eye this preseason, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
ANALYSIS
"I love what Tidjane has done so far in this preseason," Lee said. "He's attacked the body side of his player development program. His body looks different. He's moving even more confidently because he is more stronger." Lee also mentioned that Salaun has improved his defensive ability and playmaking skills. With Grant Williams sidelined by a knee injury to start the campaign, Salaun may have a good chance of securing the backup power forward minutes behind Miles Bridges.
