Personal Bio/PreCareer SummaryBorn in Pennsylvania, Andrew Carr attended the local high school, West Chester East, before committing to play college basketball at Delaware. He led the Fightin' Blue Hens to the 2022 CAA Tournament championship during his sophomore campaign and posted a double-double in their win to advance to the NCAA Tournament. Carr then transferred to Wake Forest for two seasons, where he started every game. He averaged at least 10 points and six rebounds in each campaign, including a stellar 31-point, 11-rebound outing during the second round of the 2024 NIT. Following that performance, Carr entered the transfer portal again, this time joining his sister, Lizzie, who played volleyball at Kentucky. In his lone season with the Wildcats, Carr started 29 of 35 games and did a little bit of everything, averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals-plus-blocks in 24 minutes per game. In his five-year collegiate career, Carr shot 52.2% from the field and 34% from deep. Carr displayed a do-it-all skill set at every stop during his college career and was a team-first player. He consistently made the right read and moved the ball quickly, plus he was an exceptional screener. Offensively, Carr is most comfortable picking and popping at the top of the key, but he can hurt a lackadaisical defense in multiple ways if given the chance. Defensively, Carr makes an impact in the paint by absorbing rebounds and protecting the rim. He didn't have great defensive stats, but that's because he didn't chase blocks or steals, staying on his feet in a good defensive position while forcing offenses to make tough shots. Carr shares traits with other undersized centers/stretch power forwards like Zach Collins (6'11, 249), Micah Potter (6'9, 248), Kyle Filipowski (6'11, 250) and Moritz Wagner (6'11, 245). If he lands in the right spot, Carr could develop into a reserve forward who provides a sparkplug mentality off the bench.

ANALYSIS
Carr is viewed as a potential second-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, though he's far from being a lock to be selected. He averaged 10.3 points and 4.7 rebounds as a fifth-year senior with Kentucky in 2024-25. The Pistons control the 37th overall pick in the upcoming draft.
