Manager Torey Lovullo said Thursday that Vieira (elbow/knee/shoulder) will undergo Tommy John surgery, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.

Vieira has struggled a bit in June and has given up nine earned runs over his past five outings, but he still has a respectable 4.26 ERA. The 29-year old last pitched in the majors with the White Sox in 2019.
