2025 Fantasy Outlook
Halvorsen, a seventh-round draft pick by the Rockies in 2023, made his major-league debut last August after compiling a 4.47 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 44.1 innings between Colorado's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. The 6-foot-2 right-hander featured a four-pitch mix headlined by a 100 mph fastball that he tossed 37 percent of the time, but it was his splitter (28 percent usage) and slider (16 percent) that produced the most swing-and-miss. Halvorsen pitched well enough in his limited big-league sample (13:2 K:BB over 12.1 frames) to earn save chances over the final few weeks of the season, recording two in three opportunities. The 25-year-old's minor league track record suggest ratios and walks might be an issue, but Halvorsen's raw talent stands out among other relievers in Colorado's bullpen. He's worth gambling on as a closer-in-waiting type for 2025, but his save ceiling is capped due to the team he plays for. Read Past Outlooks

Picks up third save
Halvorsen didn't allow a baserunner and earned the save with a scoreless ninth inning Tuesday against the Marlins.
ANALYSIS
Zach Agnos (personal) had recorded two consecutive saves for the Rockies but is currently on the bereavement list. That set Halvorsen up for the save chance Tuesday, and he delivered his third save of the season. After a slow start to the year, Halvorsen has turned in five scoreless efforts in his last six appearances.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Potential trade candidate
Halvorsen is one of the players the Rockies might trade before the deadline, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
ANALYSIS
Halvorsen's numbers this season aren't eye-popping by any means, as he owns a 4.56 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP across 23.2 innings and 24 appearances in 2025. However, it wouldn't be odd if some contenders show interest in the former Missouri standout. He owns a triple-digit fastball, and his 58.2 percent groundball rate is among the highest in all of baseball.
