28-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Colorado Rockies
2025 Fantasy Outlook
Heading into last season, Bouchard recorded an impressive .304/.429/.563 line, albeit spanning just 140 plate appearances over the previous two seasons. However, in 108 trips to the dish last year, Bouchard mustered a paltry .187/.290/.297. His struggles began in the spring, costing him an Opening Day roster spot, likely as the regular right fielder. He spent most of the first shuttling between the Rockies and Triple-A Alburquerque before dealing some injuries and then finishing the year with the Isotopes, for whom he hit .324/.418/.642. The Colorado outfield is crowded, but only Brenton Doyle is assured of playing every day. A strong spring could land Bouchard on the less busy side of a platoon, and that plays in NL-only. Bouchard went 4-for-4 with three runs scored and a double in Monday's Cactus League game against the Angels.
ANALYSIS
Bouchard had a down 2024 season but entered spring training healthy after undergoing surgery on his hamate bone in early November. Jordan Beck is the favorite to start in right field for the Rockies, but Bouchard has collected eight hits across 18 at-bats while striking out four times early on in the exhibition season.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
Bouchard enters Cactus League play as the favorite to start in right field for the Rockies to begin 2024. He hit 20 homers and stole 12 bases in just 69 games at Triple-A in 2022, which earned him his first big-league call-up. Last season was mostly wiped out by a ruptured left biceps, though he returned to the major-league club in September. Bouchard has fared well in his limited MLB action to date (.304/.429/.563), but it will be difficult to sustain success if he continues to strike out in roughly one-third of his plate appearances, as he did with the Rockies last season. Coors Field can cover a lot of flaws, and the 27-year-old Bouchard will at least be in the mix as a home streamer if he secures at-bats in spring training.
Bouchard made his MLB debut in June then was called up for good in late August. He played every day over the final two weeks of the season, slashing .390/.545/.683 over that span, most of which was achieved in Dodgers Stadium and in Oracle Park. Clearly, he was over his skis, but the strong finish should earn him a long look in the spring. He hits the ball in the air, which bodes well for Coors Field, but contact has always been an issue. Bouchard didn't attempt any steals with the Rockies, but he swiped 12 bags in 14 tries with Triple-A Colorado Springs last summer. There are openings in the Rockies outfield, but as a righthanded batter, Bouchard is at best vying for a short side of a platoon role, better suited for NL-only action.

Impressive patience on display
OFColorado Rockies
September 30, 2022
Bouchard has walked 19 times in his first 21 big-league contests and has a .472 OBP.
ANALYSIS
Bouchard had a cup of coffee in the majors in June and returned to Colorado on August 30. In his most recent stint, he's produced a .333/.508/.489 slash line and 17:16 BB:K in 63 plate appearances. The 27-year-old had a 14.1 percent walk rate for Triple-A Albuquerque this season but walked just nine percent of the time in his minor-league career before that. He's started the last eight contests for the Rockies and walked at least once in each game.
