Ralphy Velazquez

In 98 games from May 8 on, the 20-year-old Velazquez slashed .293/.364/.535 with 17 home runs, a 9.2 percent walk rate and a 17.8 percent strikeout rate. Almost 30 percent of that dominant stretch came at Double-A, where he slashed .330/.405/.589 with five home runs and a 15.1 percent strikeout rate. Only four players (Sebastian Walcott, Colt Emerson, George Lombard and Nelson Rada) were younger than Velazquez while logging 100-plus plate appearances at Double-A, and none of them were as prolific as Velazquez, who led all Double-A hitters with 100-plus PA with a 187 wRC+. Notably, the lefty-hitting Velazquez had a higher OPS against lefties (.886) than righties (.823 OPS) last year, so everyday playing time could be there for him early in his big-league career. Velazquez could easily spend all of 2026 in the minors, but he is a top 50 dynasty prospect, and he could have a very loud summer at Triple-A that tests Cleveland's patience. Read Past Outlooks
