2025 Fantasy Outlook
Nunez made the Nationals' roster as a Rule 5 pick but played sparingly because he was both terribly inexperienced and could only play the positions manned by the two best players (Abrams and Garcia Jr.) on the team last season. The Nationals wanted to hold on to Nunez after watching him steal 122 bases in the Marlins system over the previous two seasons and can now send Nunez to Triple-A in 2025 to continue his development with regular playing time. Nunez, despite his inexperience at the upper levels, had an impressive 15.4 percent walk rate in his 78 plate appearances, continuing a skill he showcased throughout his time in the Florida system. It will be interesting to see how well Nunez does in Triple-A this season when he resumes his on-base skills and showcases his speed with regular playing time, because he can absolutely fly. Perhaps a move to center field might be in the future, as neither Abrams nor Garcia Jr. appear to be going anywhere anytime soon. Read Past Outlooks

Recalled by Washington
The Nationals recalled Nunez from Triple-A Rochester on Saturday.
ANALYSIS
Nunez wasn't able to make the Nationals' Opening Day roster despite a strong showing in spring training, but he'll be called up to the big club following the placement of CJ Abrams (hip) on the 10-day injured list. Nunez was slashing .192/.323/.192 with five stolen bases and three RBI across 31 plate appearances in Triple-A before his promotion to the majors.
