2024 Fantasy Outlook
Knack had a 2.51 ERA and 99:30 K:BB over 100.1 innings between the Double-A and Triple-A levels last season, prompting the Dodgers to protect him from the Rule 5 Draft by adding him to the 40-man roster. His fastball velocity has fluctuated over the years, but he's settled in the 93-94 mph range. He lacks the upside of the typical Dodgers pitching prospect, but he could still provide fantasy value if he's in that rotation and limiting damage. The 26-year-old missed the final month of the season with an undisclosed injury, but he has a solid chance of making his big-league debut in 2024, especially given Los Angeles' plethora of pitching injuries. Saves bullpen
Knack gave the Dodgers four innings in bulk relief in Tuesday's Game 4 loss to the Yankees, allowing one run on two hits and a walk while striking out two.
ANALYSIS
The Dodgers found themselves down 5-2 after Daniel Hudson allowed a grand slam to Anthony Volpe in the third inning, and Knack's four innings allowed manager Dave Roberts to save his remaining high-leverage relievers. Knack could be in contention for the fifth starter's role or a bulk relief role in 2025.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2023
2022
Following a promising 2021 campaign, Knack took a step back in his first full stint in Double-A last season, posting a 5.15 ERA and 1.42 WHIP (albeit with a strong 28.4 K%) over 17 starts. The right-hander's campaign was delayed by a soft-tissue injury he picked up early in camp, and he was never able to string together more than a couple strong outings, pitching five-plus innings in consecutive appearances only twice. Concerningly, Knack put up worse numbers as the season wore on; over his final eight starts, he went 0-6 with a 6.92 ERA over 26 frames. It's somewhat baffling that a hurler lauded for his control saw such regression in that area last season -- his walk rate jumped from 3.3% to 9.6% -- though it's quite possible that his inability to stay healthy (Knack also spent time on the injured list in July) was at the root of his struggles. In spite of the down season, the Dodgers remain high on Knack, and deservedly so given that his arsenal includes four potentially plus offerings. He'll have every opportunity to bounce back in 2023 and could still make his big-league debut at some time during the campaign if things fall back into place.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Opening in rotation
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Wednesday that a pitcher will be inserted into the rotation Friday against the Angels, reports Juan Toribio of MLB.com, and Knack should be a candidate to start that contest.
ANALYSIS
The right-hander has pitched well in his first taste of the big leagues this year with a 2.61 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 16:6 K:BB over 20.2 innings, but he's been stuck at Triple-A Oklahoma City for most of the past month and a half. Even if called up Friday, it may only be a spot start for Knack since the Dodgers have three scheduled days off in the next 12 days.
