Overcomes foot injury
Kelley (foot) has given up three earned runs on four hits and five walks while striking out four across 4.1 innings since being reinstated from High-A Winston-Salem's 7-day injured list April 27.
ANALYSIS
Kelley missed the first three weeks of the season while recovering from a fractured left foot. He's been gradually ramping up thus far at Winston-Salem and should eventually be capable of making four- or five-inning starts, though working deeper into his outings will be contingent on him limiting walks and being more efficient with his pitches.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
Most teams would have salivated over Kelley a decade ago, but now teams tend to avoid using premium picks on physically mature (6-foot-3, 230 pounds) prep righties with upper-90s fastballs. It's a very risky subset, both for health and performance reasons. The White Sox rolled the dice on Kelley, selecting him with the No. 47 overall pick last year. His fastball has double-plus velocity, but it lacks ideal movement. His low-80s changeup is arguably his best pitch. He generates his premium velocity without much effort, which is partly why he projects to have above-average command in pro ball. Kelley has had trouble spinning a breaking ball, but there are reports his slider has been steadily improving. He will need to stay on top of his diet and conditioning to avoid getting too big, and the breaking ball needs to emerge as a legitimate third pitch, but there's a small chance he ends up being special.
