The Mets signed Reetz to a minor-league contract Friday that includes an invitation to spring training, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
ANALYSIS
Barring something unforeseen, Reetz isn't going to make the Opening Day roster, but he will give the Mets' some veteran catching depth. The 28-year-old got into six games with the Giants this past season, picking up a double and a home run in 15 plate appearances.

2015 Fantasy Outlook
The Nationals' third-round pick in the 2014 draft, Reetz made a solid showing in the Gulf Coast League as he got his feet wet as a professional, showing the tools to make an impact both behind the plate and with his bat. His contact skills are already in place, and scouts expect his power to develop as he matures and fills out, potentially giving him Brian McCann-like upside if he meets his ceiling. Catching prospects notoriously take a long time to develop, though, and the defensive demands of the position can take a big toll on their offense, so unless Reetz has a huge breakthrough in 2015, dynasty league owners are probably better off taking a wait-and-see approach with him.

Reetz is with the Giants as a member of the taxi squad for Tuesday's game against the White Sox, reports Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle.
ANALYSIS
The 28-year-old has joined San Francisco as emergency catching depth since Patrick Bailey is dealing with a side injury. Reetz should be added to the active roster and serve as Curt Casali's backup should Bailey require a stint on the injured list.
