2026 Fantasy Outlook
Florentino was the top prospect add in 2025 dynasty leagues that allow in-season pickups. He was a known prospect after logging a 149 wRC+ in the Dominican Summer League in 2024, but he signed for under $400K and public scouting reports suggested the lefty-hitting Florentino would significantly slow down as he filled out his 6-foot-4 frame and end up in a defensive corner. In 2025, Florentino went 35-for-41 on the bases in 83 games split between rookie ball and Single-A while playing the majority of his games in center field. He also saw time at first base for the second year in a row. It's to be determined if he can remain quick enough for center field, but Florentino's showing with the bat last season leaves little room for skepticism. He slashed .290/.400/.548 with 16 home runs, a 14 percent walk rate and 22.2 percent strikeout rate across the two levels, but things were even more impressive under the hood. As an 18-year-old with a .241 ISO at Single-A, Florentino logged an 85.7 percent contact rate and 5.6 percent swinging-strike rate -- elite marks for any hitter at any level. The one negative for Florentino is his lack of success against lefties, as he logged a .489 OPS, 28.6 percent strikeout rate and zero home runs in 70 plate appearances against same-handed pitching last year. Even so, he looks like a future middle-of-the-order masher who chips in double-digit steals. Read Past Outlooks

Back in action at Single-A
OFPittsburgh Pirates  A
September 3, 2025
Florentino (hamstring) has gone 1-for-9 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in two games since being reinstated from Single-A Bradenton's 7-day injured list Saturday.
Analysis
Florentino was on the shelf for just over the minimum seven days due to a left hamstring strain, but the injury doesn't look like it will be derail what has been an outstanding season for the 18-year-old, who has emerged as one of the top lower-level prospects in all of the minors. Through 52 games at Bradenton, Florentino has walked at a 14.5 percent clip and has produced a .265/.384/.513 slash line with 10 home runs and 29 steals in 33 attempts.
