Picks up first save
PWashington Nationals
September 14, 2025
Beeter earned the save in Sunday's 4-3 win over the Pirates, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out three in a scoreless ninth inning.
Analysis
With Cole Henry (back) landing on the IL and Jose Ferrer presumably unavailable, the Nats turned to Beeter in the ninth inning Sunday, and he was able to work out of trouble en route to his first major-league save. Beeter has been excellent recently, holding opponents scoreless in his last 14 appearances (13.2 innings) while allowing just two hits in that span. Overall, the right-hander sports a 4.03 ERA with a 1.07 WHIP and 28 strikeouts through 22.1 innings this season.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Beeter finished his 2023 season strong at Triple-A and impressed enough in spring training to figure into the Opening Day rotation mix. Even at his best last season, Beeter walked too many batters, but that was partially due to the automated balls and strikes system that led to inflated walk rates across the board. He primarily works with a 94-95 mph fastball and a plus 86-mph slider, so unless he can be more efficient with his pitches, Beeter might work best as a pitcher who follows an opener or works as a piggyback starter and throws three or four innings per outing.

Could be fit for Cardinals
PNew York Yankees
July 14, 2023
Beeter could be a trade option for the Cardinals, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Analysis
Goold notes that the Yankees are seeking outfield and short-term pitching help, which are areas the Cardinals can cover if they decide to sell at the trade deadline. The 24-year-old Beeter isn't one of New York's top prospects but has collected a 2.64 ERA and 83:38 K:BB over 71.2 frames between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2023. He was acquired from the Dodgers at last year's trade deadline in exchange for Joey Gallo.
