High-A Hudson Valley placed Smith (undisclosed) on the 60-day injured list Monday, Conor Foley of YES Network reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear what the nature of Smith's injury is. He was promoted from Single-A Tampa to Hudson Valley on Aug. 6 and made two starts for the Renegades before landing on the shelf. Smith logged a 2.61 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 37 strikeouts in 31 innings over his final seven appearances of the year across the two levels. The 22-year-old righty was ascending prior to the injury, but if it ends up being a serious arm injury, we may not see him again until 2026, given when this occurred in the calendar.
