2023 Fantasy Outlook
Madris appeared in 39 games for Pittsburgh in his first taste of the big leagues last season, though he finished the campaign in Tampa Bay. He eventually landed with the Astros and should have an outside shot at making the Opening Day roster. He had a .177/.244/.265 slash line in 123 plate appearances last year, though he excelled at the Triple-A level with 11 homer runs and an .876 OPS in 81 contests. Houston's starting lineup is likely to be more static than most teams, but the team is without a reliable utility option after the departure of Aledmys Diaz. Madris could be a reserve option at first base and the corner outfield spots but is unlikely to see much playing time if the Astros can remain decently healthy.
