2025 Fantasy Outlook
Kittredge was traded to St. Louis last off-season, where he established a new career-high with 74 appearances. With health finally on his side, the 34-year-old re-emerged in high-leverage, racking up an NL-leading 37 holds (2nd in the majors). This was three times his career mark in the category across seven seasons prior. The veteran righty doesn't strike out many batters - his 23.3 percent K-rate was only slightly above-average - but he produced a 100th percentile chase rate (38.9 percent) thanks to an effective slider that he threw nearly half the time. After signing a 1-year, $10 million deal with Baltimore, Kittredge is likely to fill a setup role. Read Past Outlooks

Earns another save Tuesday
Kittredge tossed a scoreless ninth inning to record the save in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Brewers.
Analysis
Regular closer Daniel Palencia secured the save in the first game Tuesday, but the Cubs didn't use him for the nightcap, instead turning to Kittredge to protect a 4-1 lead. The veteran righty breezed through the top of the ninth inning on 10 pitches, giving him his second save in the last three days. Palencia is still the top option out of the Chicago bullpen, but it appears that Kittredge has earned some trust in late-game situations when needed.

Kittredge was out for much of last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery in June 2022, but he made his return from the IL in mid-August after appearing in 12 minor-league rehab games. The 33-year-old right-hander recorded a save in his first appearance back for the Rays, but that would be the only one he'd record for the rest of the season. He'd finish with a solid 3.09 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 10:2 K:BB over 11.2 innings. If Kittredge can overcome the health woes that have plagued him in recent seasons, he figures to fill a late-inning role for Tampa Bay that's likely to include the occasional save chance.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Likely trade piece?
According to Chad Jennings of The Athletic, Kittredge has a good chance to be traded by the Orioles ahead of Thursday's deadline.
Analysis
The veteran right-hander inked a one-year, $9 million contract with Baltimore during the offseason and also has a $9 million club option for 2026, though the $1 million buyout makes the figure more reasonable. Kittredge continues to be effective with a 3.68 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 30:7 K:BB across 29 appearances, so he should garner interest from contending teams since he's effectively a rental.
