2018 Fantasy Outlook
Busenitz appears to be a late bloomer at age 27. A hard thrower who can reach the high-90s with the fastball, Busenitz never had strong strikeout rates in the minors, likely due to a lack of effective secondary pitches. He Improved in his first extended time at Triple-A last year with a 10.0 K/9 and 1.78 ERA which got him a brief callup in June. When called up for good in late July, he responded with a 2.05 ERA and 7.8 K/9 in the final two months. He'll contend for a setup role this spring.
