d'Arnaud was the backup to Logan O'Hoppe for the 2025 season and saw his fewest full-season plate appearances since his rookie season in 2013. d'Arnaud played in 69 contests and had a dreadful season at the plate with a rapidly declining strikeout rate unlike anything he had done in a previous season as his 32% strikeout rate came out of nowhere. d'Arnaud has normally been a serviceable second catcher in deeper leagues because he has delivered double-digit home run totals in each of the past three seasons, but his 2025 season so so awful it may be time for the 37-year old backstop to hang it up soon. He has one more year on his contract with the Angels, but it would be surprising if he finishes out the contract, especially with the ballclub. Read Past Outlooks
