2025 Fantasy Outlook
Chourio's older brother Jackson ascended to superstar status in the second half of last season for the Brewers, and Jaison will look to ascend to top-25 prospect status in 2025. The younger Chourio can actually match his older brother pound for pound (they both measure roughly 6-foot, 195 pounds) and tool for tool until we get to the power department, as Jaison has seven home runs in 186 career games. His 49.3 percent groundball rate in 2024 marked the first time he'd hit fewer than 50 percent of balls on the dirt, although he can hit the ball hard (110.8 mph max EV). A broken left wrist ended Chourio's season in late August. Prior to that, he'd been an on-base machine, slashing .269/.414/.398 with a 19.9 percent walk rate, 16 percent strikeout rate, five home runs and 44 steals in 98 games. Chourio is an above-average defender in center field, which combined with his plate skills, should allow him to be an everyday player in a few years. There hasn't been any sign of the switch-hitting Chourio reaching a new level as a power hitter, but he doesn't turn 20 until May, and even a modest uptick in power would allow him to profile as a potential leadoff hitter rather than a No. 8 or No. 9 hitter.
