Angel Genao

20-Year-Old ShortstopSS
Cleveland Guardians A+
2025 Fantasy Outlook
The Guardians have a knack for acquiring and developing hit-over-power prospects who project to add defensive value, and Genao is one of the more exciting such archetypes to come through the system. Genao was promoted to High-A Lake County on June 3, just two weeks after his 20th birthday, and slashed .322/.377/.463 with four home runs, 13 steals and a 16.3 percent strikeout rate in 66 games. He didn't hit for the same power as he did at Single-A to start the year (six HR, .212 ISO in 44 games), but his hit tool remained a strength and he tallied 25 steals in 110 games on the year. Genao started 36 games at shortstop, 16 games at second base and 11 games at third base for the Lake Captains, and he'll fit in wherever there's an opening on the dirt when he's big-league ready in a year or two. He is bigger than his listed 5-foot-9, 150 pounds, but not much bigger, and the young switch hitter should remain hit-over-power indefinitely. Read Past Outlooks
