2026 Fantasy Outlook
A torn labrum at the beginning of the 2024 season sidelined Quero until May 2025, when he completed a rehab assignment in rookie ball before joining the Triple-A lineup in June. Quero has always been a classic case of a catcher who is a much better real-life prospect than fantasy one, as his stellar defense while being young for his levels has stood out to scouts. He doesn't shine on offense, but he's been an above-average hitter in each league he's played in while maintaining strikeout rates below 20 percent at every stop and below 15 percent at every stop since 2024. Given that he was a 22-year-old at Triple-A in his first year back from shoulder surgery, Quero's .255/.336/.412 slash line and 101 wRC+ in 58 games are respectable marks. Intriguingly. Quero hit all six of his Triple-A homers over his final 35 games, slugging .484 with a 15.3 percent strikeout rate and 10 percent walk rate over that stretch. William Contreras will get as much work as he can handle again in 2026, but Quero appears ready to spend the whole year working as his backup in the big leagues. Read Past Outlooks
