Haase signed with Milwaukee last winter and was unable to make the Opening Day roster despite a strong showing during spring training, but he stayed in the organization and spent the second half of the year in the big leagues. He played in 30 games and had an .819 OPS with five home runs, 14 RBI and 10 runs in 69 plate appearances. He split backup catching duties with Gary Sanchez -- who returned to free agency this offseason -- which resulted in inconsistent starting chances since William Contreras was an everyday presence in the lineup.
