From an offensive perspective, Adams was one of the better-performing No. 2 catchers in baseball in 2023, putting up an .807 OPS across 158 plate appearances. That included a .960 OPS against left-handed pitching. However, Adams gave all that back in 2024, finishing with just a .629 OPS while spending some time in the minors. The Nationals brought Adams back to compete with Drew Millas for the backup job behind Keibert Ruiz.
