We should look at all Rangers under the lens of WE & WB: With Ecker and With Boone. The Rangers dismissed hitting coordiatnor Donnie Ecker in early May as the team got off to a horrendous start offensively despite Ecker's success with the roster in previous season. Seager was hitting .291/.344/.453 at the time of the dismissal, but had just four homers and six extra base hits. Seager went onto hit .265/.381/.497 under Bret Boone's tutelage with 17 homers before an appendectomy ended his 2025 season. The abbrevated season due to the surgery ended a three-year run of 30+ homers for Seager, which was truly the only consistent part of his outputs. His runs and RBIs were left to the whims of his supporting cast in Texas while his batting average has been 82 points of variance over the past four seasons. The return to 30 homers in a full season should not be a surprise, but where his run production and batting average goes in 2026 is anyone's guess because he has been all over the place in recent seasons.
