For a second straight season, an underperforming Bell was traded to a playoff contender, and the first baseman used a fortunate BABIP to hit well for the new team. In 2024, that team was the Diamondbacks, who needed a first baseman when Christian Walker was sidelined by an oblique injury. Bell had a 121 OPS+ for Arizona before becoming a free agent during the offseason, and he ultimate signed with Washington, where he played in 2021 and 2022.
