After spending some time in Korea, Bethancourt returned to MLB in 2022 and looked like he was enjoying a rejuvenated career after posting a 99 wRC+. However, he dipped to a 73 mark the following season before falling further to 66 last year. Bethancourt's plate skills remain subpar, but his quality of contact is above average. After splitting last season with the Marlins and Cubs, the Blue Jays signed Bethancourt to a minor league deal where he'll challenge Tyler Heineman to serve as Alejandro Kirk's understudy.
