Herrin was excellent in a mostly low-leverage role for the Guardians in 2024. The 27-year-old southpaw tied for fifth in the league with 75 appearances and pitched to an impressive 1.92 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 68:25 K:BB across 65.2 innings. He added 16 holds, but didn't see consistent usage as a setup man. Herrin posted an above-average strikeout rate (26.5 percent) and produced plenty of ground balls, but struggled to find the strike zone (9.7 percent walk rate).
