2025 Fantasy Outlook
Oviedo missed all of the 2024 season while recovering from Tommy John surgery. It was a disappointing setback after showing he showed signs of promise across 32 starts in 2023, allowing two or fewer earned runs on 18 occasions. On the other hand, he still experienced plenty of inconsistency, as he also allowed five or more earned runs on six occasions. The primary culprit for that inconsistency is Oviedo's lack of control (10.6 BB% in 2023), something that is only likely to worsen upon his return to the mound due to his long layoff. Another concern is his usage in 2025, as the strength of the Pirates' roster is their pitching staff.
