2025 Fantasy Outlook
Soriano can be a frustrating guy for fantasy managers to roster. Between his premium velocity (97.2 mph with his sinker), elite groundball ability (100th percentile) and three secondary pitches with at least a 39.4 percent whiff rate, the ingredients are there for a frontline starter. Soriano has not pitched like a frontline guy, though, at least not consistently. Control issues have held Soriano back, as he had a 10.8 percent walk rate in 2025 and issued at least three free passes in 15 of his 31 starts. He also gives up more hard contact than you'd think a guy with his stuff would, as his hard-hit rate and average exit velocity both ranked in the fourth percentile. There's a non-zero chance Soriano puts it all together and becomes an ace, but to this point he's shown no indication he can do it consistently, and the Angels probably aren't the organization to coax it out of him.
