Maton continues to boast one of the best curveballs in the league - his 41.6 percent whiff rate on the pitch ranked 12th among those who threw a minimum of 300 curves, while his .136 BA and .227 SLG were top-10 marks for that pitch type. Between the Cardinals and Rangers, the 32-year-old finished the 2025 regular season with a 2.79 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 81:23 K:BB across 61.1 innings. According to Statcast, he ranked in the 98th percentile or better across multiple categories, including hard-hit (30.7 percent) and barrel (3.6 percent) percentage allowed, average exit velocity allowed (84.8 mph) and whiff rate (36.2 percent).
