Jax did not record any saves in 2025, but he finished eighth among relievers with 28 holds and sixth with a career-high 99 strikeouts. His sweeper was responsible for a majority of those strikeouts (59), as Jax's 46.5 whiff percentage was best in the league for that pitch type. The right-hander's 92.3 mph changeup was equally as devastating, also inducing a 46.5 whiff percentage, though he curiously tossed fewer of those following a mid-season trade to Tampa Bay. Unfortunately, Jax wasn't successful with his high-velocity offerings, as his fastball (.320 BA, .620 SLG) and sinker (.333 BA, .524 SLG) were crushed by opposing hitters. Same for the occasional cutter that he tinkered with to left-handed batters. Now that Jax is with the Rays, he might tinker with his pitch mix even more than years past, though his sweeper and changeup should remain the focus of his arsenal. Jax has a clear path to saves in 2026, though Kevin Cash's plans for the ninth inning are currently unknown. Read Past Outlooks
