It's not uncommon for a player's real-life value to far exceed his fantasy value, and Yarbrough certainly fits into that category. The veteran lefty's average fastball velocity clocks in below 90 mph, putting it in the 1st percentile among big-league hurlers, and Yarbrough's strikeout rate has unsurprisingly never topped 20.8%. His 4.36 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 64 innings last season didn't turn any heads, yet the Yankees happily re-signed him to a one-year deal. Yarbrough's ability to work in multiple roles (he made eight starts and 11 relief appearances last season), as well as his proclivity for inducing weak contact (his hard-hit rate and average exit velocity allowed both ranked north of the 90th percentile), should come in handy for a New York staff that will be waiting for multiple starters to get healthy at the start of the 2026 campaign. As for Yarbrough's fantasy value, there's little to get excited about unless soft-throwing swingmen are your sort of thing. Read Past Outlooks
