2026 Fantasy Outlook

A first-round pick in 2023, Waldrep spent the majority of the 2025 season at Triple-A Gwinnett, posting a 4.42 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 92:50 K:BB over 91.2 innings. Upon his return to the major leagues in August, Waldrep rattled off four consecutive wins with an unbelievable 0.73 ERA in his first four starts (two earned runs in 24.2 innings). From there, he was closer to his Triple-A marks, with one eight-run blowup Sept. 12 against Houston marring the numbers down the stretch. Waldrep's strikeout rate was modest at 24.0%, but his splitter is very good and the curveball gives him another putaway pitch. The initial run of success kept his overall numbers strong with Atlanta, and while they are largely unsupported by his underlying metrics, Waldrep has likely positioned himself as a member of the starting rotation to begin 2026.
