The Rockies selected Schunk in the second round of the 2019 first-year player draft (No. 62 overall). After spending all 2023 with Triple-A Alburquerque, Schunk returned to the Isotopes last season before getting his big-league callup in late June. He played sparingly, filling in at second and third base with a taste of shortstop. Schunk appeared overmatched, recording a 31.6 percent strikeout rate and 4.1 percent walk rate. His batted ball metrics were poor. Schunk's .291/.346/.464 line in 185 Triple-A games may seem encouraging, but he played in one of the most hitter-friendly venues in the best league for offense. While anyone wearing a Rockies uniform warrants consideration, there are better dart throws than Schunk. Read Past Outlooks
