2026 Fantasy Outlook
Jansen will be looking for his fifth team since the start of the 2024 season after MIlwaukee declined his $12M team option. Jansen was a trade dealine acquisition by Milwaukee from Tampa Bay who served as a serviceable backup when he did play but most of his power production came in his time with the Rays. Jansen's plan of attack is consistent in that he is out there hunting for fastballs or hanging breaking balls to elevate and pull to left field. He has a career .220 batting average with this approach in just over 2000 career plate appearances, so he is what he is. Jansen's defense is going to land him another role, and he makes for a nice second catcher with his power upside if you are one who likes to go cheaper on second catchers because he has failed to hit double-digit homers just once in the past six full seasons.
