Renfroe has essentially been a replacement-level player over the past two seasons, providing power at the expense of pretty much everything else. He has a sub-.300 on-base percentage for his career and his arm strength in right field isn't enough to make up for his limited range on defense. His decision to exercise his $7.6 million player option with Kansas City for 2025 was likely easy one consider he would not have touched that on the open market. The Royals could eventually decide to move Renfroe to a short-side role, where he's better suited, or cut their losses entirely.
