2026 Fantasy Outlook

If you have a good memory, you may remember Blackburn made the 2022 AL All-Star team after putting together a strong first half for the A's. Those days seem long in the past, as the veteran righty has been unable to replicate that success in subsequent campaigns. Last season, Blackburn posted an ugly 6.23 ERA with a 1.51 WHIP and 34:12 K:BB over 39 innings spanning 15 appearances (including four starts) between the Mets and Yankees. The saving grace for Blackburn was that he finished on a strong note, allowing just two earned runs while managing a 14:2 K:BB over 12 innings across his final seven appearances. That was enough for the Yankees to bring him back on a one-year deal, and Blackburn will likely fill a role in middle- and long-relief with the ability to step in for an occasional spot start.
